Jan Braun, born on 15th May 1926 in Łódź, studied classical philology and archaeology at the University of Lodz (years 1947–1951). His MA thesis (1951) was devoted to ethnogenesis Etruscans. He also worked as junior assistant Department Classical Archaeology, (from 1949 do September 1950) later lecturer Philology same university October 1950 1951). In 1951, Braun left for Georgia order complete his doctoral studies. From there he returned Poland PhD, specializing Georgian other oriental languages, especially ancient languages Near East. years 1955–2002, Warsaw, initially professor. 1970, became associate 1991, received higher degree (habilitation), 1995 obtained position full genetic relations modern including a suggested Basque-Kartvelian connection. During habilitation colloquium, gave an interesting lecture entitled Basic problems historical-comparative research over Mediterranean area (Warsaw, 28th, 1991), which is presented Appendix No. 1 (with some comments bibliographical references). The paper presents Braun’s main fields achievements made Łódź (Poland), Tbilisi (Georgia) Warsaw. According view, early Etruscan represents external member Anatolian (deriving from Luwian), so that it belongs Indo-European language family. opinion, Basque western South Caucasian (or Kartvelian)
